[About the Vought F4U-1D Corsair] In the latter half of the Pacific War, the U.S. Navy’s Corsair overwhelmed the Japanese military with its high speed performance and heavy armament.Among them, it followed the F4U-1 and F4U-1A, which were mainly deployed to Marine Corps land bases. The F4U-1D was the first Corsair type to be officially adopted as a carrier-based aircraft in April 1944.It featured a raised cockpit to improve visibility, a bubble-shaped canopy with no window frame, and a new, thicker design. It was characterized by propellers, and in addition to six 12.7mm machine guns in the wings, it was possible to attach a total of up to 900 kg of weapons and tanks on the two pylons on the bottom of the inner wings, and eight rockets on the bottom of the outer wings. In February 1945, it became the first U.S. Navy carrier-based aircraft to attack the Japanese mainland, demonstrating its capabilities as a fighter-bomber. [About MotoTug] The U.S. Navy has a large number of aircraft towing tractors called MotoTug on aircraft
carriers . The compact and powerful MotoTug is easy to maneuver even in tight spaces, has a low center of gravity and can run stably, and is also durable with a sturdy iron bumper. It has excellent performance and is perfect for operation on narrow aircraft carriers.
